I agree it's pretty insane to leave Mizzou out of the Top 50, or even top 20 for next season. But get used to SLU being equally ranked, if not ranked higher in the coming years.

Great Preview Blake. I have Brazil over Argentina as well in my final, but with Maradona's proposition that he made if Argentina wins the Cup, a lot of people do not want to see them win it all lol. I do think the USA is going to feed off the Confed Cup momentum and will upset a German team that despite all the talent, Germany lacks in goal against as you mentioned one of the top keepers in Tim Howard, so I think USA pulls the upset here. With Mandela there, I hope South Africa beats Mexico, but I still think France and Mexico advance in Group A. I think Drogba's injury hurts the Ivory Coast due to the lack of effectiveness, so I like Portugal in 2nd in Group G. I like Cameroon over Denmark to come in 2nd in Group E. I think Paraguay as you said rallies around Cabanas, who had the shot to the head in a Club earlier in the year and could make a run in this tournament.
Something to keep in mind soccer fans, there has never been a time where a European team has won a World Cup outside of Europe and if Brazil wins, they would have won a Cup on all 6 continents where you can physically play soccer.
Should be a good World Cup !!!

I can't even begin to explain how ignorant leaving Mizzou out of the Top 50 is. That absolutely amazes me how you can even call this list credible without them EVEN IN THE TOP 50. If you're really going to use the excuse of trying to figure out who to take out, just pick anyone past 20. I've seen them as high as 9 on other sites! They return their 3 leading scorers with a group of promising guys already in the system, as well as bringing in a Top 15 recruiting class! This is so ridiculous with schools like SLU and WICHITA STATE ahead of Missouri. Please educate yourself and repost this.

Was Michael Jordan a great jump shooter? No. Was Magic Johnson a great jump shooter? No. Hell, Kobe's not even a great jump shooter, he's never been among the NBA's leaders in a season. That's a ludicrous argument considering there are many, many great players who weren't great jump shooters, including the best to ever take the court. The thing is, LeBron's three ball is steadily improving, he's becoming a better defender and smarter player. Is Kobe improving at this stage in his career?

Kobe still the best in the NBA? Really? He's not even the best shooting guard, that's Dwyane Wade. Give Wade OR LeBron the supporting cast Kobe has, and I GUARANTEE you they are still playing basketball right now. Wade was ridiculous against Boston, if he had an inkling of help, the argument would be LeBron vs. Wade, not LeBron vs. Kobe.

It's odd, you bring up last second shots, but fail to mention that Kobe is among the NBA's worst in game winning shots since 2003, hitting just 25% of his game winning attempts. You want pitiful? You've got it. LeBron is a respectable 34% over that time, considering the league wide average is 30%, but over the last three seasons he's making 42% of his game winning attempts. All stats say you want LeBron taking your shot over Kobe at the buzzer. These are facts, free of bias, take the names away and 42 looks much better than 25.

This ends my rant.

Nice list. Though it may be time to bump St. Louis up into the 20's somewhere, taking into account the landing of big man Rob Loe. And maybe 'X' taking a dive.
