Daniel Evans’ Bracketologyhas been one of the top in the country over the last five seasons. During four of his five seasons he has been able to get at least all but one team correct (one perfect season). Last season he was the “Official NCAA Tournament Blogger” for CBSSports during the NCAA Tournament. Both he, and fellow OSF writer Blake Hofstad, were asked to participate in a special CBS challenge group against the best bracketologists in the country as well as some of the top college basketball writers (like CBS’s Gary Parrish). This bracketology will be updated nightly and will be listed on Daniel Evans’ CBS Sports blog. This season he is once again being featured as the Official NCAA Tournament Blogger for CBSSports.com. The Bracket Matrix lists Evans as the second most successful bracketologist over the last two seasons.

2-5 vs top 50 rpi,to go with weak non conf slate besides syracuse, mich state, richmond, fsu
but if they beat miss state today they will slide in probably for miss state. i looked more into pac 10 tiebreaker i think cal has it as of now so i moved wichita state in for arizona
@Chris02m
How in the world is Florida not in the field at this point? They are 16-6, 5-3 SEC, only have 1 loss to a sub-50 RPI opponent (South Alabama), and have wins over Michigan State and Florida State. No way they’re on the wrong side of the bubble at this point.

I mean hell Marquette has a better resume than UNC:
13-8, RPI 59, SoS 24, key wins: Xavier, Georgetown, uconn(sucks for them really since they lost to Nova twice by 2 and WVU by 1).
I get that they are the defending champs, but their resume right now is not worth an at-large, especially when there are at least a half dozen teams with better wins and RPI.
Mike, it’s not that I don’t think Connecticut shouldn’t be lower. I just don’t think the committee would make them lower than a 10 right now. Teams with their history usually get higher seeds than they might deserve.
You cannot see Conn. as anything lower than a 10? Seems incredibly silly to me. They should get the ranking they deserve. Right now definitely below Baylor and Louisville.
these are my current seeds:
1’s-kansas,syracuse,kentucky,villanova
2’s-michigan state,west virginia ,texas, georgetown
3’s-duke,kansas state,purdue ,pittsburgh
4’s-gonzaga,byu,wisconsin,vanderbuilt(despite today)
5’s-tennesee,baylor,georgia tech,new mexico
6’s-temple,ohio state,mississippi,butler
I still think it’s a stretch at best to have Gonzaga playing in Spokane for their first (two) game(s). I just don’t see the selection committee doing that. Washington, maybe. Gonzaga, probably not.
—————-
Gonzaga can play in Spokane the first two games. Why?
1) The game is being played 1.6 miles from campus at Spokane Arena.
2) Washington State’s staff is hosting the game, not Gonzaga’s. The rules state a school’s staff cannot be running a site where its team plays.
3) Gonzaga is playing only one regular season game there this season, against Oklahoma. The rules state that a team cannot play at a site where it plays more than three regular season games.
i’m not tracking your #1S….Duke should be there. Kansas, Tx, and Kentucky…..
I know you are going off your plan, but you are really killing the PAC 10, By my count they will get 4 teams in: Cal, Wash,, ASU I think are in, and WSU and Arizona are on the brink…..Between Sagarin and CBS RPI, the Pac 10 is doing stronger than anticipated. Teams MUST win 20 to get in, but with strong rpi, tough to keep them out if they get to 20…..

florida isnt safe though has plenty more to do
Florida is IN and has been listed as “IN” for the last two weeks. They’re an 11 seed in the Midwest bracket……

i have marquette ,miss state and arizona (co leader also beat california h2h as automatic bid) over florida dayton and cincy.
last 6 in are:old dominion,richmond,louisville,miss state,south florida and marquette
first 6 out:
cincinnati,seton hall,florida,wichita st,illinois and dayton
thoughts?
I’m not sure why you think UNC deserves a bid but Minnesota doesn’t even deserve a spot on the last 8 list.
Compare them:
UNC: 13-8, RPI 76, key wins: MSU, OSU, SoS: 23
Minn: 13-8 RPI 51 key wins: Butler, OSU, SoS: 26

I’m not sure Chris. I will update tonight and then we will know. I have to evaluate their resume again before I can post for sure.
I will change it Joanie. Thanks.
how low does unc fall after getting beat by virginia at home
BTW, Dan, George Mason is 10-1, not 10-2 in conference…..good picks
Good fielding….agree with you George Mason replacing Old Dominion. They seem to be on a roll.
i have uconn in the 8-9 range right now(were a 6 before back 2 back losses)

is it just me or is this yrs bubble teams all suck?
Well, IUPUI just smoked Oakland tonight so I would go ahead and put them in Oakland’s spot.
Vandy is 15-3/4-0. Not 15-3/3-0. Seeding is accurate though.

Not really but i like your bracket mine starts in 8 days.
Thanks Jason. I know you like any bracket where Kentucky is the #1 overall seed
.
not bad Dan.
No. In all my updates I’ve had BYU playing in a Thursday/Saturday pod and region.
Dan. Looks good, but can BYU play on a Sunday?
Dan….

6 schools in RPI top 100, and 6 in Sagarin….
